These are the rules every Testwise Lab verdict follows. They exist so you can trust the score even when the brand is paying us a commission.
Independence
No brand, retailer, or PR agency reviews a verdict before publication. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored verdicts, or "review samples in exchange for coverage." If a product is on the site, we chose to log it.
Where the data comes from
Specs are pulled from the manufacturer's official documentation and live retail catalog data. When the manufacturer and the retailer disagree, we say so on the product page.
Scoring
Every category has public axes that are applied the same way to every product in that category. The exact axes and weights are documented on How we score. We do not "round up" a score because we like the brand or "round down" because we don't.
The catch
Every verdict ends with one inconvenient truth — the thing the marketing copy will not mention. It is the part of a product that most often surprises buyers after the box is open. It is mandatory.
Corrections
If a spec is wrong, a price is stale, or a verdict is unfair, we update the page and note what changed at the bottom. Email administration@lionadv.us to flag anything.
Money
